I Don’t Care What You Think of Me

Most of us do. Actually, from time to time, all of us do. A big one that we often battle is the fear of how others perceive us. Most people say, “I don’t care what people think of me.” When I hear someone say that, I quietly assume in my mind that they really mean just the opposite. The truth is… feeling like you are being judged doesn’t feel good. You can fight the feeling. You sincerely can refrain from concern about what another thinks about the way you live. I fight (and win) this battle daily. Here are a few ways to beat this beast: <ol> <li>Don’t compare yourself to others.</li> <li>Don’t allow another person’s opinion debilitate you.</li> <li>Don’t be easily offended.</li> <li>Accept who you are.</li> <li>Realize EVERYONE has strengths AND weaknesses.</li> <li>Focus on the positive.</li> <li>Build character.</li> <li>Maintain your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses.</li> <li>Recognize your special gifts and talents.</li> <li>Balance your pride (be proud of yourself, but don’t get the big head).</li> <li>Set goals and plans for your self-improvement.</li> <li>Be patient.</li> </ol> Sidenote: While you are working to build your security, don’t tear down another’s. Make sure you are not judging others. Furthermore, don’t be too harsh or judgmental with yourself. Just work on changing yourself into the beautiful creature God wants you to become. Do Everything As Unto the Lord

In <a class="zem_slink" href="http://ift.tt/1eGHJLY" rel="wikipedia" target="_blank" title="Abundant life">John 10:10</a>, Jesus exposes the devil’s strategy to steal, kill and destroy. His ultimate goal is death. Today, Jesus is present to give us an alternative. We don’t have to choose death – we can choose life. And not just existing but having an abundance of life. If we are distracted, our focus is off God. If we are distant, we are disconnected from God. If we are desperate, we are impatient while waiting on God As a result, we put ourselves in a position of vulnerability to be attacked by the devil. Therefore, EVERY DAY you must consciously focus on God, connect with God and wait on God. This can easily be accomplished… <h2>Do everything as unto the Lord!</h2> • Parent as if you were the father of baby Jesus • Work as if Jesus were the CEO of your company • Eat and exercise as if Jesus were your doctor • Respect your husband as if you were married to Jesus • Be a friend as if Jesus were your BFF • Drive as if Jesus is in the passenger seat <h4>Every day, in every way focus on God, connect with God and wait on God. How NOT to Be Still…

<div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div class='pdfprnt-top-right'><a href="http://ift.tt/1wdPffa" target="_blank"><img alt="image_pdf" data-recalc-dims="1" src="http://ift.tt/1AxaMgC" title="View PDF"/> </a><a href="http://ift.tt/1wdPffe" target="_blank"><img alt="image_print" data-recalc-dims="1" src="http://ift.tt/1AxaLZW" title="Print Content"/> </a> </div> Most of us are familiar with the first part of <a class="zem_slink" href="http://ift.tt/V85QiY" rel="wikipedia" target="_blank" title="Psalms">Psalm</a> 46:10 which says… <h4 style='text-align: center;'>“Be still and know that I am God.”</h4> But do we actually apply this command? When calamity comes or chaos climaxes do you truly remain calm and totally trust in God? Can you let go of your concerns fully to realize the availability and capability of our Supreme Being? No we don’t. Not always or in all ways. But we should. As you mature in your faith and relationship with God, you should come into a feeling of perfect security in Him. This is the process of living in ultimate PEACE. To “be still” requires more than physical motionless and verbal quietness, but life-transforming trust. Trust that the world will keep turning even if you take a break from spinning it. Oh, wait, you don’t spin the world – God does. <blockquote> Habakkuk 2:20 But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. </blockquote> To “be still” requires peaceful prayer and silent submission that will wisp you into worship. To “be still” requires sureness in the Sovereign One. <blockquote> <a class="zem_slink" href="http://ift.tt/1AxaM00" rel="wikipedia" target="_blank" title="Book of Zechariah">Zechariah</a> 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out </blockquote> To “be still” requires a comfort because God is for you, therefore no one can be against you. Let’s be clear… To “be still” is NOT being a stone, stupid, apathetic or unconcerned at the commotion plaguing your psyche. To “be still” is NOT appearing to be unaffected while your heart and soul slowly homepages. To “be still” is NOT being inactive and paralyzed by fear and fretful. Don’t be impatient or restless, but be quiet and easy while resigned to the will of God. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy. Have confidence that when everything else in life is slipping and sliding you KNOW God is unchangeable in His nature, purposes, promises and covenant. Think of it this way… Because you know God, you can BE STILL!
